GOERGL BRONZE MEDALLIST, ANJA PAERSON INJURED
Bronze medal for our Elisabeth Goergl in yesterday’s Downhill race, ranked right behind the two American skiers Vonn and Mancuso. Good result for the Carrera athlete, who succeeded in passing the last and challenging jump of the slope, the “Hot Air”, which halted the champion Anja Paerson instead. The Swedish skier badly landed after the jump, and her participation in today’s Super Combined is now uncertain (even though the athlete’s team confirmes that the injury is not serious).
Last Monday’s male Downhill race has also been unlucky, since the “temporary” 2009/2010 world champion Carlo Janka only ranked 11th. Forth place for another Carrera skier, Mario Scheiber, overcome by Defago, Svindal and Miller.
During these Olympic days the world press is anyhow largely writing about Carrera athletes, and in particular about the spectacular performance of the ski jumping medallist Simon Ammann.
