MORGENSTERN WINS THE FOUR HILLS TOURNAMENT
Thomas Morgenstern did it! The 24-year-old from Carinthia won the Four-Hills-Tournament for the first time in his career. In spite of all the pressure, he captured the overall victory in a dominating fashion. Thomas is the third Austrian in a row to win this traditional event.
"It's not real for me yet. There are so many emotions. I enjoyed it, the audience was awesome. Thanks to everyone who made this possible." said the winner.
Our athlete now is not very far away from his second overall World Cup title. In fact, Morgenstern has already scored 1083 points after just a half of the season, 402 points ahead of the second.
It was a great week also for our alpine skiing team: Carlo Janka got a third place in downhill and a second one in Wengen (AUT), while Mario Matt was second in slalom. Good news from Zauchensee too, for Anja Pärson and Elisabeth Görgl, who got respectively a second place in downhill and a fourth one in super G.
We’re looking for an amazing end of season, with Kitzbuhel and Cortina d’Ampezzo races, waiting for Garmish World Championships.
