WORLD CUP BEGINS FOR THE CARRERA ATHLETES
After the great success of last season, the Alpine Ski World Cup begins for the Carrera athletes. The opening races will be in Sölden, Austria. The Swiss skier Carlo Janka, who has dominated the past season, will have to defend his titles against all other contenders. Between them there will be his conational Marc Berthod, the experienced Michael Walcchhofer and the Super-combined specialist Romed Baumann.
Looking at the women, it will be a crucial season for Anja Paerson, who comes from a difficult year, but was able to enter the exclusive club of skiers who have won at least one race for nine successive years. There are big expectations also for Andrea Fischbacher and Elisabeth Görgl, who both have achieved great results during the Olympic Games in Vancouver, with a gold and two bronze medals.
